For this gathering, ...we will be ...having a "pot Luck" with a spring type theme, and are asking everyone to bring a dish to pass. Whatever you bring, we will eat. Plates, silverware, napkins and beverages will be provided.

Its been awhile

Well it has been awhile since I have updated this blog....and its a new year. :)
Gal Pals has been meeting about every 3 months or so. Vincy, Leslee and I are looking forward to getting together soon for a weekend to get some things planned out for the year. Vincy and Jen also have a blog if you are intersted in following either of those as well. We have been praying for Leslee who has been dealing with symptoms and some medical concerns. Please keep her in your prayers. Here is her latest update:

"First of all, I really want to thank all of you that have taken the time to encourage me and tell me you are praying. You all have no idea how much I appreciate all of you!! I have truly wonderful friends and I am so thankful for each one of you! When this all began, I was so nervous. It was difficult to try to deal with it and be strong for our kids. Each time I have trouble with my heart racing or dizzy spells, the kids are scared...as am I. Having you all as support is a gift from God that I will not soon forget. Your genuine concern, love and support means so much.

My ultra sound was Fri. I found out that I have a large cyst on my thyroid. It appears to be fluid filled with some thick matter in it that will have to be tested. BUT....the ultra sound tech found 5 more "spots". She labeled some as nodules and some as small cysts. It looks like at this point I will not have to have surgery but will have to have the large cyst aspirated. (This means sticking in a large needle and extracting the fluid for testing.) Hopefully, the extraction of the interior fluid will help to decrease the thyroid problems that I have been having. I was told that I have an interior cyst and not a cyst on the exterior of my thyroid, thus the extreme thyroid conditions. I was also told that the thyroid is very grumpy when it is messed with and is revolting just because of the cyst. We are praying that the cyst does not refill and doesn't require being taken out surgically.

I have to wait for the surgeon to view the ultra sound pictures and make the final decision about surgery. The surgery date is Jan 28th but am hopeful about it turning into an in office aspiration and not a surgery. I will have to go in every 6-12 months to watch the growth of the other "spots". I know this will be an on going issue for me but am thankful that I am now aware of it and we are able to watch it. I am also thankful that, at this point, I do not have to be on thyroid regulatory meds.

Thank you for hanging on to the "Drama of my Life"...stay tuned for another adventure :) The ultra sound tech said she had never seen so many spots on one thyroid...yes, I am a freak of nature, but rest in the knowledge that my savior holds me and I strive to stay in HIS will. November Gathering

Last night was our November gathering and was a huge blessing full of food, fellowship, and excellent message given by our own Leslee Onnink, who taught on prayer, as well as bonding time followed by prayer for requests given. (be sure to see some of the posted pics)
In January, Vincy, Leslee and I are planning to get together for some much needed plan time for Gal Pals...and try to plan out activites for the year 2011 both structured gatherings as well as the more casual bonding time, we hope at many different locations. One of our Gal Pals (Brenda Smith) even mentioned the idea of an overnight - how fun would that be??? Anyway, please keep us in prayer as we follow the Lords lead in this ministry. My eyes well will tears of joy and thanksgiving as I think of what a blessing all of you are and what God has just begun with this ministry. I am so thankful for all of you. Many I have met in person and many I will meet in the future - God Bless you all in your upcoming Thanksgivings.

***** My heart is also heavy for a fellow Gal Pal who is struggling health wise and has given me the ok to post her request for prayer to all of you. Nancy Parker Newbill is stuggling with health issues with her heart. She has told me that the doctors have told her that they have done all they can do for her and has also said "Without divine intervention my heart is going to give out". I am asking for you all to hold her up in prayer. We know that healing is ours according to the following scriptures:

He was wounded for my transgressions, He was bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement of my peace was upon Him and with His stripes I am healed. Isaiah 53:5

My light has broken through like the morning, my healing has sprung forth speedily, my righteousness has gone before me and the glory of the Lord is my rear guard. Isaiah 58:8

God, You have restored health to me and healed me of all my wounds. Jeremiah 30:17

God has brought health and healing to me and revealed an abundance of peace and truth to me. Jeremiah 33:6

I attend to Your words, I incline my ears to Your sayings, I do not let them depart my from eyes, I keep them in the midst of my heart, for they are life to me and healing and health to my flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22

God has taken all sickness and disease away from my midst. Exodus 23:25

You are the Lord that healed me. Exodus 15:26

The Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me, that same Spirit quickens my mortal body and infuses it with the zoe life of God, every single day. Romans 8:11

Please keep Nancy in your prayers and be in agreement along with us on this issue.

Great October Gal Pals Gathering

Last night was our October Gal Pals for Christ gathering, and we had a blessed turn out of women. A great combination of those who have attended before, as well as new comers. We decided to try something new and have a "pot luck" type meal that went over wonderfully, with a great combination of foods. perfect for a meal and dessert.
Jen opened the evening with an introduction to the purpose and vision of the ministry, making a point to communicate that our goal is to always have Christ in the drivers seat. Leslee, then had some creative ice breaker ideas, as well as door prizes. Jen then prayed for the meal and we moved into the eating part of the gathering - YUM!
Vincy, spoke to the ladies and gave a message on "Letting Go In Order To Hold On" and shared much of her life testimony.
Leslee, had a few more pize give aways, and then it was time to get creative. Leslee, showed and encouraged the ladies to make a card and envelope to send or give to someone as an encouragement. Jen closed with a challenge to the ladies and a prayer. The evening was such a blessing to us, and even more evident that God knows what He is doing and is completely in charge of where this ministry is headed. It is so exciting to see God work in His way and in His time.
We believe the next meeting with probably be after the holidays in January. We will post again when we have a date and a place for the gathering nailed down. Please continue to pray for Gods direction in this ministry. Blessings to you.

Huge Blessing

Well tonight didnt go the way that we had planned with our Gal Pals for Christ event, but it is a good thing that God was in charge, because it went the exact way that He had planned. Thank You God for an awesome time of fellowship, laughter, sharing, encouraging and bonding time with some wonderful women of Christ. I cannot wait to see what the next event holds. :) The next event will be October 9th, I hope you all can make it. Details will come closer to the event. YEE HAA - Thank You Lord!!

Tonight is the night...

well tonight is the night. It will be our very first Gal Pals for Christ organized event. None of us knows what to expect exactly. You can prepare and prepare and prepare but things dont always go as you plan. No worries though, God knows exactly who He wants there and what He wants accomplished. We have prayed for each one of these women coming and asking the Lord to open their hearts to whatever He wants shared with them. We have prayed that they will be blessed coming and going and that we would all have a joyous time together and that new friendships will be formed. WOOO HOOOO! ;)

Getting geared up and getting the ball rolling...

We have our first GPFC event set for South Bend at the SBC Cafe for August 21st at 7pm...which is just around the corner. We are already 1/2 full on that one.
We finally have a place and a date for the second GPFC event which will be in Elkhart/ Granger area on Friday October 9th. No details set for that event yet but we will soon get started on specifics after the first one is over I am certian.
We are also in the process of having a t-shirt design created for those who are interested. That is all still in the works.
I love watching God work in all of this. With Gods working however, also comes the attacks of Satan and it is happening as well.....so we conitnue to pray for covering of protection over us as we move forward. Praying about finances as well and we know that God will provide as we prepare to do His work in His time....its sooooo cool!!

Kick of Event for Gal Pals for Christ

Well our first event is scheduled for August 21st at South Bend Chocolate Cafe's production room at 7pm. We are praying about the women who will show up for this event. There are only 40 seats avaliable, so we pray that the women who should, need and really want to be at this event are there.
We met together last night to nail down some details and to actually look at some dates for the second event as well as some details.
It is so exciting to watch God work as we go step by step by faith, just exactly where He is directing us.

How It All Began

Our friendship began a few years back, first, with Jen and Leslee attending the same college and becoming friends. Then over several months of communication through email and phone calls, Jen meeting Vincy who also happens to be a local Christian radio station DJ. After Jen and Vincy bonded, Jen then introduced Leslee to Vincy. From that point on the three have been inseperable.
From the start of our friendships together, we have always felt as though the three of us would be "doing something for the Lord together" but we never knew exactly what that was. As time has gone by, the Lord has shown each of us individually, that He would like for us to use our own personal testimonies, as well as our friendship testimony to speak to, and reach other women for Christ.
Since receiving this confirmation from the Lord, we have moved forward in faith, step by step, to carry out whatever plan the Lord has for our lives in this ministry. The awesome thing about this is that even though none of us knows exactly where this ministry is headed, the Lord knows exactly where He is going to take us on this journey. Our constant prayer for this ministry is that we never move ahead of the Lord, and that we stay completely open to His direction as we listen for His voice in showing us the next step.

We presently have a group site on facebook that already has over 200 women as members, and who are followers of the page. That in itself is a miracle of God. If you would like to join that facebook site, just go to the seach bar on your facebook page and type in GAL PALS FOR CHRIST, and then click "join this group".

On July 24th 2009, Leslee and Jen joined Vincy on the WFRN Morning Show to discuss friendships as well as give an introduction to our Gal Pals For Christ vision.

We have already booked a site for our very first Gal Pals For Christ event which will be held on August 21st. We are praying that the Lord will have those women come who really need to hear the message we have that particular evening, as well as those who could connect with others that will show up that evening. Our space is limited to 40 people, so we know that God knows exactly who needs to be there. We are also praying about future sites.

Tomorrow night we will get together to discuss details of that event as well as looking into promotional items for future meetings or conferences. We are praying for financial needs for the ministry and know that because this is God's "baby" that He will be faithful in that realm of need too.
It is sooooo exciting to watch God work and believe it - He is movin Big Time!!!

Thank You Lord for your provision, wisdom and clarity as we hear Your voice moving us in Your direction for this ministry step by step day by day. In Jesus Name!!!
